Fish on film

Published on September 16, 2009

Within the framework of the “Baltic is in Poland. Baltic is in Europe” project, The Polish Eko Unia organisation has released a series of 10 educational short films on the various Baltic Sea fish species considered significant within the Baltic Sea ecosystem.

Each short film consists of a two-minute reportage, accompanied by video images, on various fish species, such as cod, salmon, trout, eel, or herring and sprat. One of the goals of these films is to increase societal awareness about the various fish species, but also to screen them at environmental conferences, meetings and workshops in Poland.

Films have been conceptualised in collaboration with Professor Krzysztof Skora of the Hel Marine Station. Films can be viewed directly from YouTube (in Polish), and here is a sample of two films: Cod and Eel.
