For NGOs in the Baltic area in general, and those in Poland in particular, FISH will host a best practice workshop on the upcoming CFP reform in Warsaw on December 16.

The main objectives of the meeting are threefold:

  1. To provide successful ideas and methods for how to create change in fisheries policy by working in collaboration with others.
  2. To provide strategies to influence the reform of the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) on national and EU level.
  3. To enable the creation of national collaborative platforms to coordinate and strengthen efforts on CFP reform.

Speakers will include Uta Bellion of the Pew Environment group (on the Shark Alliance), Stefanie Schmidt of DG MARE (on the regionalization of the CFP), and FISH director Niki Sporrong (on CFP Reform and the OCEAN2012 view).
