The US Production company behind reality shows such as ”Who Do You Think You Are”, “World’s Strictest Parents” and “It’s Me or The Dog” has sent out a casting call for its next presumed blockbuster: “Alaska Fishermen’s Wives”.

The show, to be produced by Shed Media in Los Angeles and featured on Animal Planet, will capture “stresses and challenges they go through when their husbands are out at sea and they’re left holding down the fort”, said a company spokesperson.

“People are interested in seeing other lifestyles,” she added. “Do these women fish and hunt? What do they do for fun? We want to peek into their lifestyles because it really is very unique. We are very excited.”

“We want a lively bunch, big personalities, very talkative and outgoing and outspoken”.

“It seems the world is in need of some strong Alaskan women as role models” in the wake of the popular “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” series, noted a local blogger.
