As of last week, Europêche, the Association of National Organisations of Fishing Enterprises in the European Union, will be lead by Kathryn Stack appointed as new Managing Director.

According to a press release by Europêche, the appointment of Stack is a strategic step towards increasing the voice of the industry within the wider EU decision making, where Ms. Stack said “For too long, the sector has struggled to make itself heard among the throng of newly-emerging environmental groups. It is time that the balance of arguments and voice of reason is restored.”

Kathryn Stack has previously been a Policy Advisor at the European Parliament where she among others have advised and coordinated legislative work on the Fisheries Committee for the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) Group. She has written comments on fisheries management where she has raised critical words towards Green lobbying and NGO´s.
