This will be the first meeting on the new BSAC working group established on the basis of a proposal from Nils Höglund of Coalition Clean Baltic.

Three organisations, BSAC, BALTFISH and the EFCA are organising a joint workhop in order to address the lack of implemenation of the Landing Obligation and the high levels of illegal discarding that continue to take place in the Baltic Sea, primarily from the trawler fleet. The jointly arranged workshop will discuss discard mitigation and the state of play concerning the implementation of the landing obligation in the Baltic Sea. Scientists estimate that close to one out of every four cod caught in the main basic of the Baltic Sea is illegally thrown overboard. For further information contact sc@bsac.dk

The DiscardLess project will organise an open meeting marking the first half of the project. They will present results achieved since March 2015 across several topics and fishing regions, and share their most recent knowledge gathered on options for discards reduction.
