SeaWeb Seafood Summit

The goal of the Summit is to define success and advance solutions in sustainable seafood by fostering dialogue and partnerships that lead to a seafood marketplace that is environmentally, socially and economically sustainable. The conference is produced in partnership by SeaWeb and Diversified Communications.

Natura 2000 dialogue forum

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark

Dates: 28 January 2016

The aim of the meeting is to give updates on the work being done towards legislation to protect coral reefs, as well as projects dealing with bycatch of sea birds and porpoises. As the first delegated act enter into force 1st January 2016. The act covers Danish, German and Swedish fisheries regulating fisheries in 10 Natura 2000 areas in the Kattegat and the western Baltic.

Please note that the meeting will be held in Danish.

BALTFISH Technical Working Group

AORAC workshop: Making the ecosystem approach operational

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark

Dates: 20 - 22 January 2016

As part of a process to determine the science needs for investigating ocean stressors and the ecosystem approach, AORAC is organizing a workshop to scope what is seen as the "ecosystem approach" priorities and strategies of policy developers and stakeholders. The workshop will feed into the Galway process and be centered on science for blue growth. The three day workshop will address questions that are currently challenging the implementation of the ecosystem-approach to management as it moves from single to cross-sectoral. ​
Registrations are due January 4th 2016.
