MYFISH project is: Maximising yield of fisheries while balancing ecosystem, economic and social concerns. The meeting will be focusing on on ‘how to determine long term targets for multi annual multi species plans’. This one-day workshop organized by the MyFish and SOCIOEC projects, will be held the 26th of June 2014 at the Charlottenlund Castle, Jægersborg Alle 1, Charlottenlund (Denmark). Effective marine and coastal policy is critical to achieving the sustainable management of our coasts and seas – from the global ocean to our neighbourhood sea.  Yet despite much progress, developing and implementing suitable policies and management measures that effectively tackle the challenges facing our oceans and seas remains an elusive goal.

The 2^nd Marine and Coastal Policy Forum organised by the Centre for Marine and Coastal Policy Research, Plymouth University will provide an inclusive forum for policy-makers, policy-influencers, practitioners, regulators, and researchers to discuss contemporary issues surrounding marine and coastal policy with the intention of moving those issues forward through informed and critical dialogue.

VASAB, a cooperation of ministers responsible for spatial planning and development of the Baltic Sea Region together with PartiSEApate project is organising a Baltic Maritime Spatial Planning Forum on 17-18 June 2014 in Riga, Latvia. It will bring together approx. 200 MSP practitioners, researchers, stakeholders and decision makers from the region to share experience in MSP and discuss specific practical aspects of MSP. Draft agenda and concept is attached for your information.

The topics covered by the plenary sessions and workshops will include discussion on readiness to introduce MSP throughout the Baltic Sea region, stakeholder/sector perspectives on the benefits and challenges of MSP for achieving blue growth in the Region, how to enhance Baltic Sea wide cooperation and consultation on MSP, multi-level public participation in MSP, and research and data needs for MSP.  The discussions will be supplemented by an exhibition of case studies, tools and data modules relevant for planning.
