What role for science and subsidies in the EMFF?

This scientific briefing aims to inform about and debate the challenges and opportunities for cooperation between the scientific and fisheries communities arising from the new European Maritime and Fisheries Fund together with Members of the European Parliament, representatives of the European Institutions, and other interested stakeholders. The President of ICES and three leading scientists will present their ideas from a scientific perspective on the future of EU data collection and the European Fisheries advisory system, the effects of subsidies on fisheries management, as well as on the role of science in marine spatial planning under the Integrated Maritime Policy. The meeting is being hosted by Ulrike Rodust (S&D, DE).
