AQUAFIMA was established as part of the Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region aims to integrate national representatives and related stakeholders to enable discussions regarding connections between stocking/restocking measures and actual stocks of fishes in the coastal areas of the Baltic Sea.

“Fiskens dag”

Sea Web’s 10th International Seafood Summit

The Seafood Summit is an annual event bringing together global representatives from the seafood industry and conservation community for in-depth discussions, presentations and networking around the issue of sustainable seafood. The goal of the Summit is to foster dialogue and partnerships that lead to a seafood marketplace that is environmentally, socially and economically sustainable. The theme of the Summit is "Evolving solutions for new horizons," with issues ranging from food security and keystone species, including sharks, tuna, and salmon, to supply chain traceability issues; Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) fishing; artisanal fisheries, and social capital.

WWF Baltic Sea Seminar

BALTFISH meeting

Location: Tallinn, Estonia

Dates: 28 - 29 August 2012

The first BALTFISH meeting to take place under the Estonian Presidency will feature a discussion on the implementation of a discard ban in the Baltic, in which there will be participation from fishermen's representatives and experts from national administrations. During the afternoon, 2013 TAC and quota discussions will take place, along with the proposed multispecies plan for cod and the pelagic stocks. The meeting will begin at 10.00 on 28 August, with the closed high-level group meeting taking place on 29 August.
